Since 1995, Hong Kong Baptist University and the Hong Kong People Management Association have jointly been organizing an annual research project “Mainland China and Hong Kong SAR Pay Level Survey” for more than a quarter of a century and it has been extended to cover the Macau SAR since 2007.

In 2019, in line with the national policy of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, we expanded the coverage and upgraded to the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Pay and Benefit Survey” with the partnership of the South China University of Technology and the Talent Development and Management Association of Guangdong. This year, we have also engaged the University of Macau and the Macau Greater Bay Area Human Resources Association as our partners to take care and make the Macau SAR section of the survey more perfect.

Through data collection and analysis, we aim to provide the latest rewards and remuneration trend for different cities, industries, and job positions as well as the direction of talent flow in the Greater Bay Area to help organizations formulate better human resource management and compensation strategies, and to promote high-quality development in the region. Same as previous years, the survey results are presented in three reports by regions; namely, ” Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (HKSAR) Pay and Benefits Survey”, ” Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Guangdong Cities) Pay and Benefits Survey”, and ” Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Macao SAR) Pay and Benefits Survey”.

We will hold a press conference to release the survey results in October every year. It has attracted journalists from major news media to get the firsthand information about the pay trend for the coming year. Our survey report and findings have not only been recognized and quoted by business management and human resources practitioners, but also local government agencies, such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Office of the HKSAR Government and Southcn.com in the Mainland. We will also invite famous business leaders and government officials to be guest speakers to share their insights and the best human resources management practices in the annual survey results presentation seminar.
